Hero: It listens. Enquiries visual: ten enquiry cards, six faded "never answered", four bright with a WhatsApp tick. Hand-off: note + fading chat preview + "Read the whole chat" expand control

8feedback applied8hero impressive7positivity8wow legibility8not technical8copy8mobile8craft

“A clear step up from C: the hero now has charm ("a second pair of eyes helps"), the moments open on the happy path, the backlog ends in a November viewing trip, and Dan's note is easy to read with the chat underneath. The weak spot is the enquiries grid: six of ten cards are faded and the caption says "before", so it still reads as bad news, and it never shows the fix.”

Polish pass: 8 changes
  • Enquiries visual now shows before and after. The 'Before' block has a square ink-outlined tag, the line 'Enquiries from A Place in the Sun. Six never heard back.' and the ten cards: 6 dashed and faded 'Never answered', 4 plain solid 'Answered'. The WhatsApp double tick and the drop shadow are gone from these cards, so the old inbox no longer looks like the product answered them.
  • Added an 'After' block under a 3px rule. It has an acid 'After' tag, the line 'Every one answered in seconds, on WhatsApp.' with 'in seconds' in acid, and ten bold tiles, one per buyer, each with the acid double tick. On scroll the Before cards land first, then the After tiles rise and their ticks pop in one by one (all of it off under reduced motion). On mobile the tiles wrap as pills.
  • Removed the 'A Place in the Sun' source line from all ten cards. It is now said once, in the Before caption. The page count of that string went from 12 to 3 (caption, backlog chat, forwarded chat). Removed the dead .src and .enq.yes CSS. Card min-height went from 156px to 112px.
  • Mobile cards: removed the nowrap and ellipsis rule, so 'Bungalow, Playa Flamenca' and 'Villa, Los Montesinos' now wrap in full. No text is cut off.
  • Enquiries body copy, second paragraph: 'Now every one gets a reply in seconds...' became 'Now every one gets a reply, on WhatsApp, in your name, before the buyer has moved on.' The acid 'in seconds' now lives only on the After line, so the same highlight doesn't show twice side by side.
  • Moment 1 swapped from 'It hears who's coming' (the daughter line) to 'It answers the buying questions'. Sue asks 'Do we need a Spanish bank account?' and the reply is the pool line as written, with acid on 'Most people open one' and 'cash, or with a mortgage?'. The notes are 'The questions your team answers every week.' and 'And still asks the next one.' I trimmed the pool note's 'ten times a week' to 'every week' to avoid adding a number.
  • 'And then, when it fits' list: replaced 'Who's coming over with you?' with 'Have you seen anything you liked?'. The list no longer contradicts the 'notices without asking' panel.
  • First 'What it notices without asking' tile changed from the sister line (a repeat of the hero) to 'My husband's knees aren't great.' → 'Ground floor, or a lift.' The 'who's coming' point now appears only in the hero and in the panel's 'grandkids' lede.

C v2: In Spain now

Every portal enquiry, answered in your name.

7.6/10 judgeOpen live ↗

Hero: In Spain now. Enquiries visual: inbox stack of weekend enquiries piling up, each with a WhatsApp reply bubble beside it, no clock hero. Hand-off: the note on Dan's phone (one HTML phone) with the chat as a second scrollable bubble beneath

8feedback applied7hero impressive7positivity8wow legibility8not technical8copy7mobile8craft

“A solid, faithful C v2: the "out here till Friday" hero is smarter than the old one, the happy-path moments and the positive backlog work, and Dan's phone makes the hand-off easy to read. The one real weak spot is the weekend inbox: five identical cut-off replies look like a mail-merge bot, which is the one thing this page must not look like.”

Polish pass: 8 changes
  • Inbox replies: rewrote all five WhatsApp bubbles as short, whole first messages. Each keeps 'Hi X, Sol y Sal Homes here' and one 'I'm the AI assistant' clause, then ends on a different product-true question: holiday or full move (Sue); apartment or a house with outside space (Gary, whose enquiry now reads '2-bed in La Zenia', so it isn't asking what it already knows); budget (Linda); open to nearby (Paul); when are you next over (Karen). Removed the -webkit-line-clamp rule (.wa .cl) and its span, so no reply is cut off.
  • Inbox layout: the grid is now 4.5fr/7.5fr (was 5fr/7fr) and each row is .8fr / 40px / 1.2fr, so every reply fits in two lines at 1440 (measured 64px high each). At 390 they wrap to three whole lines: two lines at that width would need text under 14px or dropping the AI disclosure.
  • Mail cards: each is now three clean lines: 'A Place in the Sun' with the time on the right, 'New enquiry from <name>', then the property. The old single line clipped with an ellipsis once the column narrowed.
  • Speed device: the five acid 'Seconds later' labels are gone. Each reply now shows a plain tick and the same minute as its email (21:14 under Fri 21:14, and so on), so the speed shows without a label. Acid is used once, in the column header 'On WhatsApp, from you, seconds later'.
  • Nice-to-have (buyer answer): the last row now continues with Karen's reply bubble ('Oh brilliant. We're over in October, could we see it then?' at 22:09) and a single acid note, 'A buyer asking to view, before Monday.', so the section ends on a result. On mobile the Sun 11:25 row is hidden instead of the last row, so the result stays.
  • Hero: removed the cropped, masked earlier bubble. The first message is now shown whole, smaller (15px, 80% width), faded evenly to .64 opacity (text still about 5:1 contrast), with its own 'Sol y Sal Homes, on WhatsApp' label. The reply's label is now just 'Sol y Sal Homes'.
  • Hero charm: cut from three highlights to two. The 'Whereabouts are you staying?' mark and its note are removed; the line itself stays in the reply. Note 1 changed from 'Spots a buyer on the ground.' to 'Heard ‘till Friday’. Thought ‘viewing’.'. Note 2 is unchanged: 'Your exec knows before she's flown home.'
  • Hand-off, mobile: added data-inline to the hand-off figure and extended the inline JS. On phones, a note whose phrase sits in a .nl line of the message is now placed right after that line inside Dan's message. 'Your exec picks up already knowing.' sits under the 'cash' line, and 'How she wants to be contacted.' sits under the 'She'd like a WhatsApp' line. The detached list under the phone and its quote prefixes are removed.

C v2: Am I dreaming?

Every portal enquiry, answered in your name.

7.6/10 judgeOpen live ↗

Hero: Am I dreaming?. Enquiries visual: one enquiry email on the left turning into a WhatsApp conversation on the right, acid arrow, "seconds later". Hand-off: the note as a message with a "Chat" pill that flips the same card to the transcript (JS), transcript visible by default without JS

7.5feedback applied7.5hero impressive8positivity8wow legibility7.5not technical7copy8mobile8craft

“The strongest hero of the three ideas: "Not dreaming, that's a clear brief" is smart with a bit of charm, and the email-to-WhatsApp "seconds later" visual lands. But the flip-card hand-off hides the chat behind a small pill, so note 6 ("show the chat a little") is only half met, and the mock chats still promise "when he's free".”

Polish pass: 8 changes
  • Hand-off, chat preview: the note face now shows Sue's chat without a tap. Under the note there is a hairline, a small 'Sue's chat' label, then the first two bubbles (the agency's opening message in full, and Sue's '14th of October... Torrevieja' reply). The block is capped in height with a CSS mask, so the second bubble fades and is cut off. The preview is aria-hidden because the button is the accessible way in. Clicking the preview also flips the card. It is hidden without JS, because the full transcript already sits below then.
  • Hand-off, button: the 'Chat' pill is now 'Read the whole chat' and sits over the fading edge of the preview (margin -24px), so it reads as more of the same chat. The back face is absolutely positioned, so the taller front face also gives the transcript more visible height when flipped.
  • Hand-off, note: the last line changed from 'Full chat below.' to 'Whole chat attached.'
  • Hand-off, transcript rebuilt from pool lines only, with the hand-off statement last. The order is: opener; Sue's dates; 'Have you got a rough budget in mind?'; Sue's budget and floor-plans question; 'That one's another agency's advert... €229,000, roughly £197k.' plus 'Is this for holidays or a full move?' as a second bubble; Sue: holiday home; 'Are you thinking cash, or with a mortgage?'; Sue: cash; 'Lovely, that keeps it simple. Anything that's a must...'; Sue gives must-haves and asks for a WhatsApp with a few similar ones and viewings; then last, 'I'll let Dan know about your 14th to 21st October trip, he'll put a few similar ones together.' Removed: the invented 'Got it. Would you rather he messages or rings?' and 'Lovely. Have you got a rough budget in mind?', and the early third-turn hand-off.
  • Timing promise removed. Backlog reply: 'November's good timing. I'll let Dan know, he'll put a few together for the trip. Have you got a rough budget in mind?' Bot moment: 'Do you want one of them to message you, or shall I carry on?' The hand-off transcript no longer has 'when he's free'. A grep for when he's/they're free returns 0.
  • Enquiries copy: the first paragraph now keeps the stakes unbolded ('Left till Monday, the buyer has usually moved on.'). The second paragraph bolds both 'every one gets a WhatsApp reply in seconds' and 'while the listing is still open on their phone.', so the bold lands on the upside.
  • Moment 2 (bank account) trimmed to 'Most people open one, it's the easy way to pay the bills. Are you thinking cash, or with a mortgage?' The lender and mortgage clause is gone from the answer.
  • Desktop hero: the moment is now align-self:start, so Sue's bubble top sits level with 'EVERY PORTAL' (about y141 against about y135). The hero gap is 48 to 40px and the moment's notes column is 250 to 236px, with a 44 to 36px gutter, which pulls the chat closer to the headline and widens the bubbles (the reply is now one line).

Hand-off: Plain note

Every portal enquiry, answered in your name.

6.5/10 judgeOpen live ↗

H1 "Plain note" is a standalone page with one section, built in C's design system: Anton display, IBM Plex Sans, white/ink/acid, the .mk highlighter, and italic notes joined to their phrases by leader lines. It has a small nav with only the data-brand wordmark, a one-line Anton title "What your exec gets", and the Dan intro line ("Dan is the sales exec at Sol y Sal Homes. In your agency it's whoever you choose."). On desktop the intro sits in a sticky left column. Beside it is a 480px phone-scale column labelled "To Dan, from [wordmark]". It holds the brief's note as one WhatsApp bubble with real line breaks and a bold first line, "Sue's ready to view." Two phrases have acid highlights: "cash" leads to "Your exec picks up already knowing." and "She'd like a WhatsApp" leads to "How she wants to be contacted." On desktop these notes sit in the right margin with drawn leader lines; on mobile they stack under the bubble with dots. Beneath the note is Sue's chat, shown like a forwarded thread: a 3px ink rule on the left, "Sue" and "Sol y Sal Homes" labels at the top, Sue's bubbles on the left and the agency's on the right. It has eight turns. With JS the thread folds to the first three bubbles, the third fading out through a mask, and a square outlined "Read the whole chat" button expands it with a max-height transition. The button has aria-expanded and aria-controls, and its label changes to "Show less". Without JS the button stays hidden and the whole chat shows (checked with JS disabled). The layout works at 1440 and at 390 with a 16px gutter. Reduced motion is respected. The file is 16 KB.

“Clean and faithful to the brief, with the bold Dan intro, the bold first line, and a fading preview with a 'Read the whole chat' button that looks like C's tear-off slip. But the note lines have no spacing between them. Wrapped lines ('walkable to a / couple of bars. No high-rise.') run into the next line, so the box still reads close to a paragraph, which is the density complaint again. There's no phone or arrival moment, so 'already knowing' comes only from the two notes, and those use generic brief copy. The 'Sue' left and 'Sol y Sal Homes' right header over the chat looks a bit like column labels. Graft: The bold 'Dan is the sales exec at Sol y Sal Homes.' intro at column left, and the vertical rule tying the chat preview to the note so it reads as attached.”

Hand-off: Two messages

Every portal enquiry, answered in your name.

8/10 judgeOpen live ↗

H2 "Two messages" is built in C's design system: Anton display type, IBM Plex Sans body text, white, ink and the acid #E8FF3B highlighter, and italic notes joined to their phrase by leader lines. The page has a nav with the data-brand wordmark (AI in an ink box, split in JS) and the title "What your exec gets" on one line with an acid mark on "exec gets". The Dan intro line sits top-left on desktop and above the component on mobile. The component is a 420px WhatsApp thread headed "Sol y Sal assistant / to Dan" with a "Today" pill. It holds three bubbles, which arrive one after another in a CSS stagger that is switched off under reduced motion. (1) A three-line headline message: bold "Sue's ready to view.", then "Over 14 to 21 Oct, staying in Torrevieja.", then "Villamartin. 2-bed townhouse, up to £200k, cash." (2) The detail message with real line breaks: holiday home, must-haves, floor plans, "She'd like a WhatsApp...", and "Full chat below." in italics. (3) A "Forwarded / Sue, from A Place in the Sun" bubble holding an eight-turn compact thread. JS collapses the thread to its first three bubbles with a fade and a "Read the whole chat" button (aria-expanded, toggles to "Show less"). Without JS the full thread shows. Two acid notes: "cash" goes to "Your exec picks up already knowing." in the right margin, and "She'd like a WhatsApp" goes to "How she wants to be contacted." in the left margin, so each leader line stays short. On mobile both notes sit inline under their bubble with an acid dot. Checks were verified with shot.py: 0 console errors and no horizontal overflow at 1440 or 390. I also checked the expanded state and the no-JS render in Playwright. The grep checks pass: CalumAI appears exactly once, and there are no em or en dashes, no monospace, no "sorry we've been slow", no CurrencyTransfer, no banned words and no exclamation marks in the copy. The file is 17 KB.

“The easiest note to read. A three-line headline bubble (ready to view / dates / area, budget, cash) sits above a separate detail bubble. That fixes 'dense and compacted' at the structural level, not only with line breaks, and it reads like a colleague texting. The forwarded thread with the 'Forwarded / Sue, from A Place in the Sun' header shows the chat clearly and compactly. The acid mark on 'EXEC GETS' and the bold Dan intro fit C well. Mobile is the tightest of the four. Weaknesses: the phone frame is a plain rectangle, so it doesn't clearly read as a phone. Having one note on the left and one on the right zig-zags the eye. The chat opener says 'villa' while the note says '2-bed townhouse'. It has less of the 'moment' feeling than H3. Graft: Split the note into two bubbles: a three-line headline message (who, when, what, cash), then the detail. Also take the 'Forwarded, Sue, from A Place in the Sun' header on the chat.”

Hand-off: The moment it lands

Every portal enquiry, answered in your name.

8.5/10 judgeOpen live ↗

I built H3 "The moment it lands" in C's design system: white, ink and acid #E8FF3B, with Anton for display and IBM Plex Sans for body text. It uses the acid highlighter and italic leader-line notes. The page has only three parts: a nav with the data-brand wordmark, the heading "What your exec gets" with the Dan intro line below it, and the component itself. On the left is Dan's lock screen, built as one HTML phone with an ink screen, the text "Tuesday 11:26", and a single white WhatsApp notification. It reads "WhatsApp, now", then "Sol y Sal assistant", then "Sue's ready to view. 14 to 21 Oct, cash, up to £200k...". The notification drops in when the page loads, which is where the speed comes from. The phrase "14 to 21 Oct, cash, up to £200k" is highlighted in acid, and a note on the left says "The gist, before he's even unlocked it." A dotted arrow runs from the notification to the opened note beside the phone. The opened note is a square panel headed "Sol y Sal assistant / To Dan, from [brand]". It holds the brief's hand-off text as one message with real line breaks and a bold first line. "cash" is highlighted with the note "Your exec picks up already knowing." "She'd like a WhatsApp" is highlighted with the note "How she wants to be contacted." Under the note is a forwarded "Chat with Sue", eight turns long. With JS on, it folds to the first three bubbles fading out, plus a "Read the whole chat" button that toggles to "Show less". I tested this: collapsed 327px, expanded 915px. Without JS the full chat shows and the button is hidden. On mobile the phone and the note run full width and stack. The notes sit under their elements with acid dots, and the note's two notes sit directly under the message rather than after the chat. At 900 to 1339px the layout changes step by step and keeps the notes readable. Checks: CalumAI appears exactly once, in the BRAND constant in the head, and the <title> is neutral. There are no em or en dashes, no exclamation marks in the copy, no banned words, no monospace, no form, no field labels and no stamps. Motion is off under prefers-reduced-motion. The file is 20.8 KB. Both screenshots are clean, with no console errors and no horizontal overflow at 1440 or 390.

“The only one where an owner feels the speed and the 'already knowing' before reading a word. The lock screen shows 'now', and the notification's acid 'Sue's ready to view. 14 to 21 Oct, cash, up to £200k' is the whole pitch at a glance. The opened note is spaced line by line and easy to read. The chat preview (first three bubbles fading, then 'Read the whole chat') is visible without taking over. Its chat is also the most coherent with the note: the opener matches the note and it doesn't mention a villa. Weaknesses: the empty black phone body takes up a lot of room. On mobile the phone uses almost a full screen before the note starts, so the section runs to about 1,900px. The Dan intro isn't bolded, so it reads as a quiet subline. Graft: The lock-screen notification with the acid gist, and the 'The gist, before he's even unlocked it.' note. Keep the notification and cut the phone body down to a short lock-screen strip.”

Hand-off: Annotated note

Every portal enquiry, answered in your name.

6/10 judgeOpen live ↗

H4 "Annotated note" uses C's design system: Anton display, IBM Plex Sans, white/ink/acid #E8FF3B, the acid highlighter, italic notes with an acid underline and leader lines with acid dots. The page has only four parts: a nav holding the data-brand wordmark (with C's inverted "AI" split done in JS), the one-line Anton title "What your exec gets", the Dan intro line (with "Dan" in bold) and the component. The component is a square card, 440px wide on desktop, with a 3px ink border and a hard offset shadow. Its header reads "To Dan from [wordmark]". Below that is a Note / Chat tab bar, with the active tab filled in acid. The Note tab shows the brief's note as one rounded WhatsApp bubble. Each line of the note sits on its own line, and the first line ("Sue's ready to view.") is bold. Three phrases carry acid highlights, each with a note saying why that line saves Dan a call. "cash" has a note in the left margin: "No call to ask how she's paying." "Over 14 to 21 Oct" has a note on the right: "Her dates are in. Viewings, not questions." "She'd like a WhatsApp" has a note on the right: "She asked for a message, not a ring." On desktop the notes are placed by JS level with their phrase, with bezier leaders drawn from the card edge. When the page loads, the highlights sweep in and the leaders draw one after another; this is turned off under prefers-reduced-motion. The Chat tab swaps the note for Sue's transcript in eight turns and hides the notes and leaders. The tabs are an accessible tablist: aria-selected, roving tabindex, arrow/Home/End keys and a short fade-in. Without JS the tab bar is hidden and the transcript shows under the note with the heading "The chat with Sue". On mobile the card is full width and the notes become a list under it, each with an acid dot and the quoted phrase.

“Its annotations are the best copy of the four. 'No call to ask how she's paying.', 'Her dates are in. Viewings, not questions.' and 'She asked for a message, not a ring.' each say why a line saves Dan a call, which is exactly the 'already knowing' argument. But the chat is completely hidden behind a tab, so the founder's 'show the chat' note isn't met at first glance. The note still ends 'Full chat below.' while the chat sits in a tab, which contradicts it. The 'Note | Chat with Sue' tabs and the 'TO DAN' display header make the card look like app UI or a form more than a WhatsApp message. The chat opener says '3-bed villa' against a '2-bed townhouse' note. On mobile the three notes stack cleanly, but the chat can't be seen at all. Graft: The annotation copy: 'No call to ask how she's paying.', 'Her dates are in. Viewings, not questions.', 'She asked for a message, not a ring.' Use it in place of the generic 'Your exec picks up already knowing.' and 'How she wants to be contacted.'”
